Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa

Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, you’ll be met by our team and transferred to Harmony Hotel. After a morning of leisure and lunch, explore:

  • National Museum of Ethiopia, home to the 3.2 million-year-old fossil “Lucy”

  • Ethnological Museum at Addis Ababa University

  • Holy Trinity Cathedral, a historic site and burial place of Emperor Haile Selassie

  • End the day with a scenic drive to Mount Entoto for panoramic city views.

Day 2: Fly to Bahir Dar (Optional)

Note: This day was missing and can be added to include Lake Tana Monasteries & Blue Nile Falls.

  • Visit Lake Tana and take a boat trip to explore island monasteries like Ura Kidane Mehret

  • Drive to Blue Nile Falls, one of Ethiopia’s most scenic natural sites
    Overnight: Kuriftu Resort or similar (B, L, D)

Day 3: Fly to Gondar (UNESCO Site)
  • Explore Gondar’s Royal Enclosure, often called the “Camelot of Africa”

  • Visit the Debre Berhan Selassie Church, famous for its angelic ceiling murals
    Overnight: Goha Hotel (B, L, D)

Day 4: Fly to Lalibela (UNESCO Site)

Visit Lalibela’s 11 rock-hewn churches, carved from solid rock and still in use today
Overnight: Mountain View Hotel (B, L, D)

Day 5: Lalibela
  • Morning visit to Yemrehanna Kristos Church, a stunning pre-Lalibela cave church

  • Return to Lalibela to explore any remaining churches not seen on Day 4
    Overnight: Mountain View Hotel (B, L, D)

Day 6: Fly to Axum (UNESCO Site)
  • Explore Axum’s ancient stele fields, tombs of kings, and archaeological ruins

  • Visit St. Mary of Zion Church, said to house the Ark of the Covenant

  • Explore the Queen of Sheba’s palace and bath
    Overnight: Consular Hotel (B, L, D)

Day 7: Fly to Arba Minch via Addis Ababa
  • Arrive in Arba Minch and transfer by 4×4 vehicle to Dorze village

  • Experience the Dorze’s unique beehive-shaped houses, weaving culture, and terrace farming
    Overnight: Paradise Lodge (B, D)

Day 8: Drive to Jinka via Konso
  • Stop at the Konso Cultural Landscape (UNESCO-listed), known for terraced agriculture and wooden grave totems

  • Interact with the Konso people and learn about their serpent cults and vibrant traditions

  • Arrive in Jinka, gateway to Mago National Park
    Overnight: Eco Omo Lodge (B, L, D)

Day 9: Excursion to Mursi Village
  • Morning drive to visit the Mursi tribe, famed for the clay lip plates worn by women

  • Return to Jinka and visit an Ari village to learn about local food and drink production
    Overnight: Eco Omo Lodge (B, L, D)

Day 10: Drive to Turmi via Dimeka
  • Visit the Hamer tribe, known for intricate hairstyles and body adornments

  • Witness their colorful markets (based on market days)
    Overnight: Buska Lodge (B, L, D)

Day 11: Murulle – Karo & Hamer Tribes
  • Visit the Karo tribe in Murulle, experts in body painting and scarification

  • Learn about their artistic clay and pigment body designs, used for social gatherings and celebrations
    Overnight: Buska Lodge (B, L, D)

Day 12: Return to Arba Minch via Arbore Village
  • Stop at the Arbore tribe, known for cattle herding, agriculture, and unique dress

  • Continue to Arba Minch
    Overnight: Paradise Lodge (B, L, D)

Day 13: Drive to Lake Langano via Sodo
  • Morning Lake Chamo boat cruise to spot crocodiles, hippos, and water birds

  • Visit Abiyata-Shalla National Park to see flamingos and hot springs

  • Continue to Lake Langano, a tranquil resort destination
    Overnight: Sabana Beach Resort (B, L, D)

Day 14: Return to Addis Ababa – Departure
  • Drive back to Addis Ababa with a stop at Lake Ziway, a haven for birdwatchers

  • Evening farewell dinner with traditional Ethiopian cuisine, music, dance, and coffee ceremony

  • Transfer to Bole International Airport for your late-night international flight
